Fuel prices

South Australian fuel prices regularly fluctuate as international benchmark prices and the value of the Australian dollar rise and fall.

However, since the start of the conflict in the Middle East, global oil prices have increased significantly and remain volatile. This has led to a sharp rise in domestic fuel prices across the country, including in South Australia.

While measures such as temporarily halving the fuel excise are helping to bring prices at the bowser down from record highs, higher prices are having an impact on household budgets.

Real-time fuel pricing

A real-time fuel pricing app can help you find the cheapest fuel near you.

The South Australian Government has partnered with the RAA to expand its real-time petrol pricing app to provide detailed reporting on fuel availability and pricing by service station for all fuel types - unleaded 91, 95 and 98, diesel, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), E10 and E85.

You do not need to be an RAA member to access fuel-pricing information on the RAA app or website.

Download the RAA app or view real-time fuel price information on the RAA website.

Report an issue

If prices don't match between the bowser and a fuel price app, or petrol stations are missing from a fuel price app, report it to Consumer and Business Services.

Penalties can apply to service stations found to be in breach of these requirements.

At a national level, the ACCC is actively monitoring fuel pricing behaviour to make sure consumers are protected. To help them understand where problems are occurring you can report an issue to the ACCC.
